Core Technology - metal complexed NSAID's
Our core technology enables non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compounds (NSAID'S) to be formulated with metals in a way that may significantly reduce their toxicity. Our lead drug candidate, Cuprindo™, is a copper complex of Indomethacin, a generic, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
NSAID's have been used for over four decades as treatment for inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's Disease. However, due to their well documented side effect profile, including ulceration of the stomach and intestines as well as renal toxicity, NSAID's have not been as widely used as their efficacy would suggest.
Cuprindo™ has to date shown promising results in pre-clinical safety and efficacy models of inflammation, where it proved to be just as efficacious as Indomethacin but without the harmful side effects.
We are in the process of preparing Cuprindo™ topical formulations for human trials to evaluate its safety and efficacy in acute inflammatory conditions.
